2018 Around the Convention
Our hosts were all ready for their sisters visiting Seaside, Oregon! The following are photos from around the convention.
July 26, 2018 was Class and Nordic Cultural Day. There were lodge displays, sales tables, and exhibits. In addition, there were courses on Nordic Traditions such as music, rosemaling, cooking and much more! The Cultural day keynote speaker was Nancy Barley, a multi-award winning author and Fulbright Scholar. Her talk on "Persistence, Courage: Surviving the Winter War of 1944-" was riveting and inspirational.
Thursday evening the Convention Chorus performed at our Meet & Greet! Supper was wonderful while a silent auction took place on a variety of baskets and items donated by Lodges and friends of the Daughters of Norway.
There was time to walk near the beach on a foggy evening. We also had the opportunity to partake in a bus excursion to an old fish cannery in which we drove along the Columbia River in Astoria, Oregon.
