Daughters of Norway
Preserving our Norwegian heritage...

Stjernen Lodge #7 was founded August 1, 1910, in Astoria, Oregon. It is the third oldest extant lodge of the Daughters of Norway. In Norwegian, Stjernen literally means "the star," and probably refers to a guiding star like the North Star. The early lodges generally took their names from the "heavens," either mythology or geography.

Stjernen Lodge is one of the smallest lodges, but is very active with the larger Scandinavian community in Astoria. They are well known for the Scandinavian Festival, held in June each year, a major community event with a princess selected to represent each Scandinavian country, food booths, crafts, dancing and other festivities. People come from around the Pacific Northwest to attend this event.

The lodge meets the first Wednesday of most months at 7 PM at the Alderbrook Community Hall on Lief Erikson Drive in Astoria. For more up to date information, please contact the lodge.
