Daughters of Norway
Preserving our Norwegian heritage...

Solheim Lodge #20 was founded February 28, 1913 in Butte, Montana. "Solheim" literally means "sun home" or "home of the sun." There are many place names in Norway that take their name from the local geography; in this case, like a village or farm on a sunny south slope or in a rain shadow of a mountain.

Solheim is a small lodge with lots of activities and long heritage. It's the only remaining Montana lodge of several which were formed in mining and ranching communities in the area. The lodge has always had its finger on the pulse of the Grand Lodge and has had Grand Lodge officers nearly continuously through Solheim's existence. Every two or three years the lodge hosts the Grand Lodge Board in Butte, the latest time being October 18-19, 2002.

Solheim meets the first Monday of most months at 7:30 PM at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Butte, Montana. For up-to-date information on lodge activities contact the lodge.
