Jana J Schnoor

2008 Convention Logo Designer

Tusen takk, Jana, for our beautiful Convention Logo!

Embla Lodge #2 thanks Swedish-American artist Jana Johnson Schnoor, who lives in Iowa City, Iowa, for so generously donating her time and talent to design our beautiful 2008 convention logo!

Jana grew up in Rockford, Illinois, immersed in Scandinavian culture from her earliest years. Both of her parents are of Swedish descent. After receiving a degree in Advertising Design (Iowa State University, Ames), she went on to work as Art Director for an ad agency and later as a Graphic Designer for the University of Iowa.

In 1993, Jana began her current line of art, “JJS Scandinavian,” beginning with her signed limited-edition print, “Nu är det jul igen.” She has since extended her line of artwork to include cards, prints, notepaper, recipe cards, gift tags, and other items, which are available at over 200 shops around the country. You can call your local Scandinavian shop to see if her cards are available there, or view her merchandise and order directly at her website (http://www.janajohnsonschnoor.com), or send her an e-mail (at jjschnoor@aol.com).

Jana lives in Iowa City, Iowa, with her husband Jerry Schnoor, a professor at the University of Iowa. She has two grown children living in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Portland, Oregon.
